About us and enquiring

Do you offer personal loans?

No. We only arrange finance for business purposes. “Personal” describes how we work — one specialist, one to one — and the owner's personal questions about their home, guarantees, credit file and money.

Does enquiring affect my credit score?

No. There's no credit check when you first enquire. A credit check only happens once you decide to go ahead with a specific option.

Will my details be sent to lots of lenders?

No. Your enquiry stays with one specialist who matches you to the right lender. We don't sell or spray your details, so you won't be flooded with calls.

Who will call me?

A lending specialist who reads your enquiry and stays with it. You won't be passed from person to person.

Why do you ask for accurate answers on the form?

Because the amount, purpose, turnover, structure and property position decide which option fits. Accurate answers let us match you properly on the first call instead of starting over.

Sole traders and small businesses

Can a sole trader get a business loan?

Yes. Lenders assess your ABN trading, business bank statements, BAS and your personal credit file together. Unsecured options typically run from $5,000 to $500,000; property-secured business loans from $20,000 to $5,000,000.

Do I need a company to borrow?

No. Sole traders, partnerships, companies and trusts can all borrow for business purposes. The structure changes who signs, not whether you can borrow.

Can I borrow while I still have a day job?

Often yes, if the money is for a genuine business with visible activity. Your wage can support the picture, but lenders focus on the business purpose.

Do you consider bad credit or ATO debt?

Yes. Past credit issues and ATO debt are considered case by case. Being upfront early helps us match you to a lender that's comfortable with your history.

Personal or business?

Should I use a personal loan for my business?

Usually it's better not to. Personal loans are consumer credit for personal purposes. A business-purpose loan is assessed on your trading and keeps records cleaner. Our comparison tool shows the trade-offs.

Is business loan interest tax deductible?

In general, the ATO lists interest on money borrowed to produce assessable income as a business expense, and only the business portion of mixed costs can be claimed. Your accountant should confirm how it applies to you.

Can you refinance business costs sitting on my personal cards?

Where the debt genuinely funded the business and you can show it, some lenders will consider refinancing it into a business-purpose loan. Personal spending stays personal.

Why does it matter if my company paid personal bills?

The ATO's Division 7A rules can treat money a private company pays to shareholders or their associates as dividends unless it's repaid or placed on a complying loan. Lenders notice these balances too — ask your accountant to review them.

Your home and guarantees

Do I have to use my home as security?

No. Home equity is one option, never an assumption. Unsecured options can leave your home off the documents. If you do use property, we'll talk honestly about protecting the family home.

Will I have to sign a personal guarantee?

If a company or trust borrows, lenders usually ask directors for personal guarantees. Sole traders usually don't sign a separate guarantee because they're already the borrower.

My home is in joint names. Does my partner need to sign?

If the home is used as security, every registered owner must sign. Many lenders require the partner outside the business to get independent legal advice.

Can I use an investment property instead of my home?

Often yes. Residential and commercial investment properties can secure business loans, keeping the family home out of the documents.

How do I get released from a guarantee if I leave the business?

Usually only when the debt is repaid or the lender agrees to release you, often through a refinance. Build the release into any sale or exit agreement.
